Mentoring and tutoring can:
- provide students with a positive, one-on-one relationship with an adult
- encourage and reinforce positive behavior and attitudes
- improve students' school performance and enthusiasm for learning
- engage the community to meet the needs of K-12 education and its students.
KCIS mentoring and tutoring services are school-based. Multiple community partners help us fulfill the need for mentors and tutors.
If you are interested in becoming a mentor or a tutor, please complete the volunteer interest form.
"I am enjoying my time at Milwood!!!! I have the neatest little girl. She is a 3rd grader. I believe the teacher picked her more for the mentoring part, to boost her self-esteem, get her talking more, than for the tutoring part....I am so glad I have started this!"
