First Fridays was created to give the community easy ways to get involved in helping students succeed. Each month, Kalamazoo Communities In Schools chooses an item that can be donated or an event that needs volunteers as its community opportunity. Postcards are mailed each month to announce the featured opportunity. By participating in this program, you can help address some of the most fundamental needs that can impact the ability of students to successfully learn and grow.

November First Fridays is focused on making sure KPS students are ready for winter. We are accepting donations of new children's sized winter coats (sizes XS-XXL), boots, mittens/gloves, hats and scarves.
